UA Finance Donate $100K COVID-19 Self-Test Kits and Masks to Small Non-profits

With concern to the recent outbreak of the fifth wave of COVID-19 and the surging demand of COVID-19 testing in the community, UA Finance (UA) announces today on the donation of sets of COVID-19 rapid antigen test kits and masks worth $100,000 to The Street Sleepers Shelter Society Trustee Incorporation, Little Red Hood Development Foundation and the Association of Alliance of Kwai Chung Residents of Subdivided Flats. By giving a helping hand with the donation, UA hopes to help alleviate the financial burden of the small charity groups and grassroots association in purchasing testing kits and masks in fighting the challenging fifth wave of epidemic.

Mr. Paul Lui, COO of UA, said, "Under the severe epidemic situation, many charity associations and grassroots groups, especially those relatively small-scale ones, are still facing the dilemma of shortage of preventive materials. Adhering to our motto of giving a helping hand to those in need, we specially send our care and help by donating the protective materials including RAT and masks to The Street Sleepers Shelter Society Trustee Incorporation, Little Red Hood Development Foundation and the Association of Alliance of Kwai Chung Residents of Subdivided Flats. We hope to power up the protection for them to fight the pandemic.

Mr. Elvis Yan, CMO of UA, added, ‘We sincerely hope that with this donation, the recipients of the donated materials can get extra protection under the current condition of epidemic with peace of mind.’

Established in 1952, the mission of The Street Sleepers Society Trustees Incorporated is to provide short-term free overnight accommodation for street sleepers and the homeless. They operate three shelters in Wan Chai, Yau Ma Tei and Sham Shui Po, providing a total of 226 bed spaces for people who need temporary accommodation.
Little Red Hood Development Foundation Limited was incorporated in 2019 as a Company limited by guarantee registered in Hong Kong.
The Alliance of Residents of Kwai Chung Subdivided Flats is formed by the groups of residents living in the sub-divided flats at Kwai Chung, with main focus on affairs related to subdivided housing and actively help the residents living in the subdivided flats.

UA will continue to closely monitor the latest development of the pandemic and offering further help and support with new preventive measures when necessary, with the aim to join hands with Hong Kong in combating the epidemic.
